TL;DR: The GTA 6 price is $79.99 for the Standard Edition and $99.99 for the Ultimate Edition in the US (£69.99 and £89.99 in the UK). It launches November 19, 2026, on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, with preloading from November 12. Anyone who buys before November 20 gets the Vintage Vice City Pack, and digital pre-orders add a free month of GTA+. Standard owners can upgrade later; the Ultimate Edition Upgrade is listed at $20 on the Xbox Store. There’s no PC version announced, and boxed copies contain a download code, not a disc.
Grand Theft Auto VI is one month away, and the most common question is still the simplest one: how much does it cost? Rockstar answered that in June, when it opened pre-orders, but the details about editions, bonuses and the disc-less box are easy to miss. Here’s the full breakdown of the GTA 6 price, what each edition includes, and how to decide which one to buy.
GTA 6 price at a glance
| Edition | US price | UK price | What you get |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard Edition | $79.99 | £69.99 | The full game |
| Ultimate Edition | $99.99 | £89.99 | The game plus exclusive vehicles, weapons, apparel, activities and locations |
| Ultimate Edition Upgrade | $20.00 (Xbox Store listing) | Not confirmed here | Turns a Standard copy into the Ultimate Edition |
US prices come from Take-Two’s pre-order announcement. UK prices are as reported by GamingBible. Prices in other countries are set by each store, so check the PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store in your region.
Why GTA 6 costs $79.99
At $79.99, GTA 6’s Standard Edition sits above the $69.99 price that has been typical for big console releases. Rockstar and Take-Two haven’t explained the number beyond describing the game as “the biggest, most immersive evolution of the series yet.” The series has sold over 470 million units, according to Take-Two, so the publisher clearly expects demand to hold up.
What’s in the GTA 6 Ultimate Edition
Rockstar describes the Ultimate Edition as “an exclusive collection of premium vehicles, weapons, apparel, and action threaded across all aspects of Jason and Lucia’s story.” The Xbox Store listing for the upgrade spells out the contents, including:
- Vehicles: a ’95 Grotti Cheetah, a ’67 Vapid Dominator Buggy with a garage, a Shitzu Squalo watercraft, a Dinka Enduro motorcycle and a Crest Kayak.
- Weapons: Hawk and Little Morgan revolvers, plus engraved versions of Jason’s and Lucia’s pistols.
- Style: exclusive outfits, hairstyles and tattoos, and Goodtime Gear apparel inspired by Macca the Gator.
- Activities: a PTT Youngin$ gang compound to raid and a classic car collection commission from a fixer named Wyman.
- Ultimate-only shops: Rideout Customs, Sara’s Unisex Salon, Stock 305, Electric Fang Tattoo (with over 50 tattoos designed by the artist collective FAILE) and One-Eyed Willie’s off-road mod shop.
Nothing in the listing suggests the Ultimate Edition adds extra story missions that change the main plot. It’s mostly cosmetics, vehicles, side activities and shops.

GTA 6 pre-order bonuses
According to Rockstar Support, every pre-order or purchase of either edition before November 20, 2026, includes the Vintage Vice City Pack:
- A ’55 Vapid Stanier Sedan and a garage
- Outfits and hairstyles
- An exclusive weapon pattern
Digital pre-orders also get one month of GTA+, Rockstar’s membership, which Take-Two says gives access to GTA Online benefits and classic games in the GTA+ Games Library.
Is there a GTA 6 disc?
No. Rockstar confirmed that the physical version contains a download code inside the box, not a disc. Boxed copies go on sale November 12 so buyers can redeem the code and preload. That matters if you planned to buy used or resell your copy later, or if your internet connection is slow.
GTA 6 release date and preload
- Pre-orders opened: June 25, 2026
- Preload and boxed copies: November 12, 2026
- Launch: November 19, 2026
Rockstar hasn’t confirmed exact regional unlock times or the download size yet, GamingBible reports. The game was delayed twice before landing on this date: first from 2025 to May 26, 2026, and then to November 19, 2026.
Platforms: no PC version yet
GTA 6 is coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, with a PS5 Pro Enhanced version. It isn’t announced for PC or Nintendo Switch 2, and it won’t come to PS4 or Xbox One, according to GamingBible. If you’re on PC, there’s no official release date to pre-order against.
Standard or Ultimate: which should you buy?
| Choose Standard if… | Choose Ultimate if… |
|---|---|
| You mainly care about the story | You love customizing cars and characters |
| You’d rather wait and upgrade later | You want the extra shops and side activities from day one |
| You want to save $20 now | You’ll spend lots of time exploring Leonida |
Because Rockstar lets Standard owners buy the Ultimate Edition Upgrade “at any point,” starting with Standard carries little risk. On Xbox, the upgrade costs the same $20 difference. The PlayStation Store also lists the upgrade, so check the price there before you buy.
Ways to pay less
- Pre-order before November 20 to get the free Vintage Vice City Pack at no extra cost.
- Pick digital if you want the free GTA+ month.
- Start with Standard and add the $20 upgrade later only if you find you want the extra content.

The bottom line
GTA 6 costs $79.99, or $99.99 for the Ultimate Edition, and arrives November 19 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. For most players, the Standard Edition bought before November 20 is the smart pick, since it includes the pre-order pack and you can still upgrade later.
